So using the mobile phone app in Salt Lake City, for a Dave’s single 1/4 pound combo I have to pay a whopping $9.49. Using the $2.00 off coupon that appears around every 3 or 4 weeks I can get it for $7.49. Still $1.30 more than listed here!! Look, I get it, the food really isn’t “free”!! And a profit needs to be made.

But this is glaring. When Wendy’s pushes above $10 to $14 they are now in the price range and competing with chain restaurants. Denny’s has a tasty and healthy salmon plate with sides for about $13 and they have rewards now too!

That said, Wendy’s has worked out the bugs with the app and it works smoothly. It’s not all horrible pricing and other prices are (mostly) spot on. Additionally they don’t push tipping on the app like Subway does. My only other nitpick is I wish all stores had the unique “coke freestyle” ordering on the app. Not all do. I will go out of my way to find that sometimes!

I like the product, it tastes pretty good, and the chain doesn’t get into politics and supports wholesome adoption. Nobody’s perfect and there is some stumble at the window with the order being wrong or not complete about 1 out of 10 times. As an example, when I upsize the breakfast potatoes they will fail to give me the larger size.
I don’t think this error can be escaped just because humans are not infallible. Once in a while I’ll get a spare chicken nugget so I’ll call it even!

As a suggestion, I would suggest that the get rid of automatically handing out straws somehow. I don’t like them and never use them. Especially in the store there’s no reason to increase plastic waste.

THIS IS THE WORSE MEAL I HAVE EVER ATTEMPTED TO EAT. If I wanted Chicken, I’d go to Chick Fillet.
