The majority of Tacoma Mall stores are closed on Christmas Day, Easter Sunday and Thanksgiving Day. Stores close early on Christmas Eve and on New Year’s Eve.

Some department stores (Macy’s, Walmart, Sears, Best Buy) are open LATE on Thanksgiving Day from 5 PM or 6 PM until Midnight. Many restaurant chains (IHOP, Denny’s, Golden Corral, Waffle House, Home Town Buffet, Cracker Barrel, and more) also remain open on Thanksgiving Day and on Christmas Day.

Tacoma Mall operates EXTENDED opening hours on Black Friday and REDUCED hours on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day. The mall has EXTENDED hours in the holiday period between the Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas Eve. We recommend that you call ahead to your preferred Tacoma Mall stores to confirm their holiday opening hours.

  1. It’s crazy that the mall is closing so early . Especially being the holiday season. I will never understand how Covid-19 causes businesses to close early. Does Covid infect more people after 9pm? I think people would do better with some normalcy. Remember, just a couple years ago people were frantic about brick and mortar businesses being forced to close. Those that have survived should be open as they used to. It comes down to no one wants to work. Covid is the scapegoat. To the person before that claims employees aren’t safe after 8pm… You’re crazy! The mall shooter was in the afternoon so maybe closing at 2pm would be better. OR you can just stay home! Ya know , if you are feeling that going to the mall after 8pm is a threat to your safety. #letsgobrandon
